Why are core values important?
Core values help us define our boundaries and understand how to prioritize what truly matters to us, they are the compass that helps guide our decision-making and solidify the foundation of our preschool.

Reading to children at an early age can give them a head start in literacy and have a positive effect on their future academic achievements as well.
Early literacy skills begin to develop between the ages of 3 to 5 years, which is known as the preschool period. Children develop three important literacy skills during this time: phonological awareness, print awareness, and alphabet knowledge.
Story-time can help develop early learners concentration, social skills, communication skills, and encourages their imagination and creativity.

We take pride in making sure our scholars are making real world connections outside of the classroom.
Educational field trips are a key component of our school instruction, they broaden the educational experience and make the subject more relevant.
Field trips enrich and expand the curriculum, strengthen observation skills by immersing Scholars into sensory activities, increase scholars knowledge in a particular subject area and expand scholars awareness of their own community.

Here at Passion For Children it's vital to provide family involvement activities. Our activities are strategically design to promote self independence and cultivate a hands on learning experience that is shared together between teacher, family and child.

As a parent, you want your child to grow up to be confident, independent, and well-rounded. One of the best ways to help them get there is by teaching them essential life skills.
Our play-based preschool curriculum is specially tailored to equip your child with the right essential life skills to succeed in life.
But what are these life skills? And why are they so important for your preschool-aged child?
Essential life skills are an important part of a child’s growth and development. They help children to navigate everyday life, be independent, communicate well, and learn to solve problems.Life skills are abilities that allow individuals to effectively navigate and manage various aspects of their lives. They are considered essential for personal growth and success, and can be learned and developed through education, training, and practice.
For a young child in the preschool age group, there are eight essential life skills that we consider vital to their development:
Communication: the ability to express themselves effectively and to understand others with both verbal and non-verbal communication methods.
Self-care: the ability to take care of their own physical and emotional needs, such as dressing oneself, brushing teeth, and managing emotions.
Problem-solving: the ability to find solutions to problems through critical thinking and creativity. Naturally, this will vary depending on the age of the child.
Social skills: the ability to interact and build relationships with others, including sharing, taking turns, and understanding social cues like helping others in the same team.
Emotional regulation: the ability to manage their emotions in healthy ways, such as by understanding and expressing their feelings, and coping with difficult situations.
Self-control: the ability to control impulses, delay gratification, and make responsible decisions.
Creativity and imagination: the ability to think outside the box and come up with new ideas.
Physical coordination and fine motor skills: the ability to use the body and hands effectively, such as for writing, drawing and other tasks.
To develop these life skills in your young child, you need to weave them into your everyday parenting activities. This could be also supplemented by a quality preschool education!

Spending time playing on a school playground or at a public park can also help children perform better academically. Utilizing playground equipment allows kids to challenge their bodies, develop their muscle strength and practice fine motor skills in ways that they generally are not able to use on a daily basis.
The playground offers a unique environment for building skills. There is a lot of development and therapeutic growth that can happen in an environment like a playground. Other than the obvious areas of development, such as strength and gross motor skills, children also learn body awareness, sensory regulation, executive functioning skills and self-esteem.

Is Passion For Children Moto!
Dramatic play is a big role in a child’s cognitive and social development.
But what is dramatic play in early childhood?
Dramatic play is where children take on different roles and act out scenarios. It’s a form of symbolic play where children use real or imaginary objects to represent other real or imaginary objects.
Dramatic play is broken down into two primary types: structured and unstructured play. Unstructured dramatic play allows children to make their own choices, while structured dramatic play gives children guidelines.
The invaluable role of dramatic play in early childhood education cannot be overstated. It is a pivotal element that fosters creativity, coordination, communication, arithmetic learning, focus, and social skills among young learners.
Early childhood educators play a crucial role in facilitating and promoting dramatic play, creating enriched learning environments where children feel free to express themselves, explore, and develop essential life skills.

What is Play-based learning?
“Play-based learning” takes place when we create an environment in which play is the natural means of exploring and discovering new things.
In this type of learning environment, teachers provide materials and opportunities for children to explore, experiment, and engage in open-ended play.
Passion For Children takes pride in providing hands on play-based learning activities all created and design by your early childhood educator Mrs.Ford.
Our preschool learning activities are align with our State Learning Standards. Preparing your early learner for kindergarten through play!

Preschool picnics allow our scholars to bask outdoors in nature that is filled with exploration and the world around them.
Picnics introduces your children to new experiences. Sometimes a change of atmosphere can even encourage a picky eater to try some new foods. Preschool picnics is a fantastic way to relieve stress and bond more with peers.

What is learning on the bridge?
Learning on the bridge is a non atypical preschool environment where our scholars are able sight see and engage in learning activities all while enjoying nature and a different scenery.

Developing fine motor skills helps children do things like eating, writing, manipulating objects and getting dressed.
These skills are important for tasks such as buttoning a shirt, cutting with scissors, or coloring. For preschool-age children, fine motor skills are essential for developing independence and enabling them to participate in activities such as eating, dressing, and playing.
There are many ways to encourage children’s development of fine motor skills. Activities such as drawing, painting, play-dough, puzzles, and threading beads are great ways to promote the development of fine motor skills. It is important to remember that all children develop at different rates, and some children may need more support than others in developing their fine motor skills.
